PhillipCapital x HVP Symposium 21.8.24

Took time off the dealing desk to join the TAP team in attending the PhillipCapital x HVP Symposium. The event proved to be an insightful experience, with several valuable ideas and information shared by the distinguished speakers.

PhillipCapital, in collaboration with Havenport Investments Pte Ltd (HVP), successfully hosted its inaugural Investment Symposium on August 21 at Pan Pacific Orchard. Themed “Back to the Future,” the symposium drew over 500 attendees, including brokers, financial advisory representatives, and key event partners.

The day began with welcoming remarks from Luke Lim, Managing Director of Phillip Securities, and Patrick Tan, Managing Partner of Havenport Investments. The agenda was filled with engaging panel discussions that explored topics such as the implications of the upcoming U.S. election on financial markets and investment strategies tailored for the current economic climate. Highlights of the day included sessions like "Same Tune, Different Song?" and "Best Ideas for 2024."

In the afternoon, the symposium featured a keynote address on 'AI in Wealth Management' by PwC Singapore, a detailed analysis of European Fixed Income Markets by Nordea Asset Management, and a concluding panel discussion moderated by Paul Chew, Head of Research at Phillip Securities. The final panel focused on alternative investment opportunities such as those in Private Equity and Private Credit.

The symposium was a resounding success and an excellent networking event, and I look forward to participating in more enriching events in the future.
